PICTURES IN YOUR FACE
In the beginning was Desire, before there was ever air, or earth, or fire.
Water roamed through silent space and wore the solid veil of ice
Then melted with Desire.
Many pictures in your face.
Many faces painted on my life.
And I’m a long way from home
And I can’t find the goddess.
And I put a new face on my old rage,
And I put a new act on the old stage.
Many pictures in your face.
Many faces painted on my life
Like road signs towards antiquity, the beacon blaze of fantasy.
I never heard them when they said these songs are just the foolish sins of youth.
I do the best that any upright man can do.
To wield the livid mind, to draw the sword and tell the truth.
So hard to find the music in the words.
The forever green and golden midnight prayers.
And I asked for her breast but she gave me the bottle,
And I’m here like the rest, and that’s a tough one to swallow.
Many pictures in your face.
Many faces painted on my life.
Like road signs towards antiquity, the beacon blaze of fantasy.
